I was wondering how to automatically create a relationship between CRM objects (accounts, opportunities or orders) to objects in our billing system (invoices, subscriptions)?
We would like to create reports to accurately track how opportunities translate into actual revenue, and reconcile opportunities amounts to paid invoices.
A manual way to do this is to add custom metadata inside the objects (example: add the opportunity_id inside the subscription object in our billing system), but I was wondering if there are ways to automate this.
Once we have opportunities linked to invoices, it’s also easier to pay sales commissions when invoices are collected, or apply clawbacks to paid commissions when a customer churns shortly after the close date.
